Coworking costs in Austin: six published offers, compared

A dated Austin price sample covering day passes from $15, flexible memberships and private offices, with the product differences that change the comparison.

By BestCoworkings · Sources checked 2026-10-21

We checked these operators' official pages on 21 October 2026. This is a small, selected sample, not a city market average, a ranking or a live availability check. Rates are as advertised in the stated currency; taxes, contract terms and final availability need a written quote from the operator.

A useful starting point, not a city average

In this six-operator sample, advertised day passes run from $15 to $35 and standard shared-desk memberships from $189 to $400 per month. These figures answer what these specific pages advertise today, not what every Austin workspace costs. A day pass, a part-month plan, a shared desk, a dedicated desk and a private office are different products.

Two comparison traps showed up in this sample. First, some operators price by branch: Dwell Coworking's open-seat rate ranges from $49 to $149 per month depending on the branch, so a city-wide headline number would be misleading. Second, the cheapest visible offer is not always desk time: limited day-bundle memberships and virtual addresses sit next to full memberships on the same pages.

The published sample

Dwell Coworking, five Austin branches including Mueller at 1106 Clayton Lane, Suite 500W: open seat from $49 to $149 per month, flex desk from $99 to $249, dedicated desk from $249 to $399, and day passes from $15, all depending on the branch. Price the branch you will actually use, not the brand.

Createscape Coworking, 701 Tillery Street, Suite 12: membership $189 per month and an open-desk day pass at $25. The operator advertises month-to-month terms with a discount for a six-month commitment; cancellation notice applies, so ask for the notice period in writing before choosing the lower rate.

Capital Factory, 701 Brazos Street: membership $250 per month, coworking $500 per month and dedicated desk $850 per month. The $250 tier is the entry membership, not the full coworking product, so check what access it includes before comparing it with another operator's shared-desk rate.

The Cathedral ATX, 2403 East 16th Street: standard coworking $250 per month, a private dedicated desk from $550, private offices from $1,850 and a day pass at $25. Fibercove, 3001 S. Lamar Boulevard, Suite 100: day pass $35, a 5-day plan at $150 per month, a 10-day plan at $250, shared desk $400, dedicated desk $600 and private offices at $700 per desk.

Work & Woof, 4930 South Congress, Building A: day pass $15 without a dog or $20 with one. A niche offer, priced for a specific working style; the same page notes seasonal noise conditions, which is a reminder that the cheapest seat is not the same product as a quiet desk.

Match the access before multiplying the price

A day pass suits occasional attendance; a membership suits recurring attendance. Compare access hours, call arrangements, booking credits and guest rules first. Fibercove's shared-desk tier advertises 24/7 access and monthly conference-room booking credits; do not assume another operator's shared plan includes the same.

Illustrative arithmetic using the published headline rates: eight $25 day passes at Createscape cost $200, against its $189 monthly membership. Eight $15 day passes at Dwell's lower-priced branches cost $120, against an open seat from $49 to $149. The break-even point moves with the branch, the day rate and how many days you actually work there. This is budget arithmetic, not proof of equal entitlements.

Ask for the missing line items

The reviewed tariffs do not settle every tax, deposit, notice, cancellation or meeting-room question. An advertised from-price is not a firm quote. Ask each operator for the full first payment, the recurring monthly total, the minimum term, the notice deadline and the cost of the meeting-room hours you are likely to use.

Capital Factory's three tiers, Fibercove's day-count plans and Dwell's branch pricing all show that the label on a plan matters less than the access behind it. Get the specific plan, at the specific branch, in writing.

Choose the branch before choosing the cheapest number

These addresses are spread across Austin, from South Lamar to East 16th Street to the Mueller development. Use the exact address in your own journey check; this article does not claim travel times or that one location is convenient for everyone. A small monthly saving can be outweighed by a commute or a call policy that does not fit your day.

Use the Austin directory to shortlist branches, then confirm the offer directly. We have not visited these spaces and have not tested internet speed, noise or room availability. Public-source review is not owner verification. Recheck the linked operator page and your written agreement before paying.
