Coworking costs in Houston: four published offers, compared

A dated Houston price sample showing why a virtual address, student rate and seasonal deal should not be compared with a standard coworking membership.

By BestCoworkings · Sources checked 2026-10-20

We checked four operators’ official pages on 20 October 2026. This is a small, selected sample, not a Houston market average, a ranking or a live availability check. Rates are USD as advertised; taxes, contract terms and final availability need a written quote.

A useful starting point, not a city average

In this four-operator sample, standard shared-workspace memberships are advertised at $200 to $275 per month. Published day passes at three of the operators are $30 or $35. These figures answer what these specific pages advertise today, not what every Houston workspace costs. A private office, dedicated desk, virtual address and shared desk are different products.

Our catalog review found three easy comparison traps: a $50 virtual office at Build EaDo, a $45 virtual office at Origin Co Work, and a $132.50 student membership at SheSpace. None is the standard full-price shared-workspace membership. We corrected the directory rather than treating the lowest number on each page as a desk price.

The published sample

Build EaDo, 5214 Harrisburg Boulevard: standard coworking membership $200/month and daily hot desk $30/day. The operator says the standard coworking membership includes 24/7 access to coworking areas, meeting rooms and amenities. Its separate $99/month Summer Special requires automatic monthly payments and a 12-month commitment that cannot be canceled early. We excluded that seasonal promotion because its current eligibility is unclear. The $50/month virtual office provides an address and mail handling, not physical office space.

SheSpace HTX, 2799 Katy Freeway, Suite 250: Community Space $265/month, dedicated desk $450/month, private offices beginning at $998/month, and day pass $35/day. This is a women-focused workspace. The $132.50/month student membership is a separate eligibility-based offer. SheConnects at $30/month is a social membership without coworking, so it is not a low-cost desk substitute.

Origin Co Work, 1000 N Post Oak Road, Suite 220: roaming membership $275/month, dedicated desk $450/month, private-office suites starting at $750/month, and day pass $35. A cubicle for the day is $45 and an office for the day is $75. The $45/month virtual office is a different product. The price cards distinguish these options; get the exact plan and terms in your quote rather than relying on the broader FAQ wording.

Houston Coffee Office, 12602 North Freeway: Shared Premium Desk $200/month and private office $950/month. The page also lists private studios at $650 to $750/month for service providers such as cosmetologists and massage therapists. Those studios are not used here as the office price. We did not find a comparable day-pass tariff on the reviewed page, so that field stays unknown rather than zero.

Match the access before multiplying the price

A desk membership may suit recurring attendance, while a day pass avoids paying for days you do not use. But compare the same access hours, parking, phone-call arrangements and room allowance first. Build EaDo explicitly advertises 24/7 access with its coworking membership; do not assume every operator’s day pass or shared plan gives the same access.

Illustrative arithmetic using the published headline rates: eight $30 day passes cost $240, compared with Build EaDo’s $200 standard monthly headline. Eight $35 passes cost $280, compared with SheSpace’s $265 or Origin’s $275 monthly headline. The differences are $40, $15 and $5 respectively, before any tax or extra charges. This is a budget comparison, not proof of equal entitlements or a recommendation to sign a contract. Fewer visits, different access or a required term can change the choice.

Ask for the missing line items

The reviewed tariffs do not settle every tax, deposit, notice, cancellation or room-credit question. Unknown is not included and is not free. Ask each operator for the full first payment, recurring monthly total, minimum term, notice deadline, access hours and fees for your likely meeting-room use. If you need a specific office, ask which room and how many people the quote covers.

Keep an advertised from-price separate from a firm quote. Origin’s $750 starting private-office rate and SheSpace’s $998 starting rate do not establish the price or availability of a room for your team. A shared-desk membership and an enclosed office should not occupy the same comparison column.

Choose the branch before choosing the cheapest number

These four addresses cover different parts of Houston. Use the exact address in your own commute check; this article does not claim travel times or that one location is convenient for everyone. A small monthly saving can be outweighed by a location or call policy that does not fit your working day.

Use the Houston directory to shortlist branches, then confirm the offer directly. We have not visited these spaces and have not independently tested internet speed, noise, service quality or room availability. Public-source review is not owner verification. Recheck the linked operator page and your written agreement before paying.
