Where to cowork in Houston: choose the branch around your workday

Compare Downtown, the Ion, Post Oak, Westchase and east-side locations using exact branch addresses, parking questions and your own journey.

Official branch, district and METRO pages checked on 20 October 2026. This is a location-planning guide, not a best-space ranking or a commute-time survey. We have not visited or tested these spaces. Confirm access and your actual journey before paying.

Start with the trip you will repeat

There is no useful single answer to the best area for everyone in Houston. Start with your home or hotel, the clients you need to meet and the hours you will travel. Then compare the exact branch address, not just the word Houston or the operator brand. This guide uses six official branch examples to make that comparison concrete. It does not claim these are the only options in each area.

Choose two candidate branches and check both the outbound and return journey for the days you plan to attend. For driving, ask about the garage entrance, validation and the daily or monthly parking charge. For transit, check the final walk and current service alerts as well as the line on a map. We do not supply travel-time estimates because the reviewed sources do not establish your origin, travel hour or traffic conditions.

Downtown: POST Houston is a specific office branch, not the whole complex

Common Desk lists its POST Houston branch at 401 Franklin Street, Suite 2400, Houston, TX 77002. The operator describes shared workspace, private offices and suites inside the POST complex. The building also has dining and public attractions, but access to a public part of POST is not a coworking day pass. Confirm which entrance and office reception to use.

The branch page advertises discounted parking, not blanket free parking. Ask what discount applies to your selected plan and whether it covers the hours you need. This is a candidate to compare if your workday already includes Downtown appointments, rather than a claim that it is the fastest trip from elsewhere.

The Ion: distinguish the district, the building and the operator

The Ion District lists the Ion building at 4201 Main Street and names Industrious as the coworking operator. Those are related places, not three separate coworking branches. If you are attending a district event, check whether your desk or room booking is with Industrious, an event organizer or another tenant. An event invitation does not establish workspace access.

The official Industrious tenant page directs drivers to the Ion District garage using 4111 Fannin Street, a block from the Ion. That is a parking entrance, not a replacement for the 4201 Main Street coworking address. Confirm validation and the actual cost. The page lists Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm; ask whether those are reception hours or the access hours of the plan you are buying.

Post Oak and Westchase: do not treat west Houston as one location

Common Desk Post Oak is at 3040 Post Oak Boulevard, Floor 18, Houston, TX 77056. Its official page places it in the Galleria/Uptown area. Common Desk Westchase is at 2500 CityWest Boulevard, Suite 150, Houston, TX 77042. These are distinct branches even though the operator is the same. Pick the one that matches your actual clients and journey; a shared brand does not make their routes interchangeable.

For Post Oak, add building reception and the trip to Floor 18 to your arrival plan. For Westchase, ask which entrance and parking area serve Suite 150. Westchase District describes access through corridors including Beltway 8, Westpark Tollway, I-10 and Westheimer. That is geographic context, not a promise of a quick drive or a toll-free route from your starting point.

An east-side option and a Lower Heights option

Build EaDo publishes its address as 5214 Harrisburg Boulevard, Houston, TX 77011. Use the street address in your route check rather than inferring a precise neighborhood boundary from its name. Its official page advertises coworking, offices and meeting space, so verify the particular product and entry instructions for the day you need.

SheSpace identifies itself as a women-focused coworking community in Lower Heights, at 2799 Katy Freeway, Suite 250, Houston, TX 77007. Its day-pass page specifies Monday-Friday business-hours access. If you need evenings, weekends or a particular kind of membership, check eligibility and plan-specific access rather than assuming a day pass is equivalent to a full membership.

Use METRO as a route check, not a proximity badge

METRO lists Red, Green and Purple METRORail lines and publishes maps, schedules and alerts on its rail page. It identifies the Downtown interchange around Central Station Main, Rusk and Capitol. Being in Downtown or on Main Street does not by itself prove a branch is a convenient station walk for you. Use the exact address and the current trip-planning tools.

For a first visit, keep the branch entrance instructions and your route in the same note. Ask where a guest checks in, whether a room booking admits all attendees, and what happens if you arrive before reception opens. A useful location comparison is door-to-desk, not just district-to-district.

Make the final choice without a false ranking

A practical shortlist can be one branch near your starting point and another near the people you will meet. Compare your actual journey, access hours, call arrangements, room availability and parking or transit cost. Only then compare desk prices. Our separate Houston cost guide covers published offers and product differences; this page deliberately does not turn those prices into a neighborhood ranking.

The directory is a starting point, not proof of current availability or owner approval. Recheck the official branch page and confirm the selected desk or room before paying. No source review here establishes Wi-Fi speed, noise, safety, service quality or a guaranteed stream of business contacts.
